The 2020 Beyond the Basics Stormwater Management Seminar: Designing For An Uncertain Future is set for February 27th, 2020, 8am to Noon at Abbington Distinctive Banquets in Glen Ellyn.
In an age of climate change, urbanization, increasingly frequent and intense storms and prolonged drought, how can we plan and design stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) for the future?
This half-day seminar will kick off with a keynote address “Accounting For The Changing Frequency of Heavy Storms in Illinois” by Dr. Momcilo Markus, hydrologist with the Illinois State Water Survey, part of the Prairie Research Institute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. We will then break into two tracks, one focused on policy, procedures, funding and communication and the other looking at the technical aspects of BMPs, and their implementation and applicability. There will be plenty of time to network and catch up with peers in the field as well!
